HIV/AIDS

Partners: TAIP, ACET and  Church of Uganda

Programme content:

• Tackling the causes and consequences of HIV and AIDS by means of educational activities.
• Providing home-based care for vulnerable groups infected and affected by HIV (widows, orphans, other vulnerable children and AIDS patients)
• Training churches to be involved. TAIP was enabled to purchase a project vehicle.

Target group: 6,000 families; 139 churches/church groups

Healthcare

Tear´s commitment in 2008: €115,000

Partner: KDDS

Programme content:

Assisting vulnerable communities to improve their healthcare and to develop sustainable healthcare practices by means of an integrated basic healthcare programme and water supplies.

Target group: 380,000 vulnerable people. These include schoolchildren, teachers, women, men, soldiers, barmaids and lodge workers, peer educators, rural youth, traditional birth assistants, community development assistants, church leaders, PLWHA and OVCs.
